Procedure (29-45 minutes)
Check if students have their cards in front of them. Remix the students so that they work with different partners. T tells the students a situation to set context for them through a given example and also runs CCQs to elicit the future clauses use from that example.
T asks students to have a look at the first activity in page 53. T elicits from SS the instructions for this matching activity. T tells students to work in pairs. T demonstrates the first example to be done. T runs whole class feedback.
T asks students to have a look at the analysis box and try to do the guiding questions in pairs. Students have to deal with three questions during this analysis part. T runs a whole class feedback and draws to students attention the use meaning and form of future clauses. This could be done through dealing with some of the examples in the previous activity. T deals with pronunciation patterns and drilling. T concept checks students understanding through CCQs
T asks students to have a look at Practice 1 and choose the most appropriate conjunction for each sentence and complete those sentences with the correct verb form. A demonstration must be done carefully by the T. Students will have to work individually and then compare their answers with a partner. Feedback will be run as a whole class feedback. T tries to ensure as much participation in this activity as possible to concept check the use of future clauses.
T asks students to work in their groups and try to complete and adapt the sentences in Practice 2 to themselves. T monitors the activity and ensures that everyone in the group is participating in the activity. T runs feedback to concept check students understanding.
T asks students to have a look at Practice 3 and think of someone they know, tell about his/her ambitions and future plans. T needs to demonstrate this activity very carefully. T asks students to stand up and walk around the room and tell each other about this person's plans and ambitions and take turns to talk about this person. T monitors the activity and writes down some errors for error correction.
