Description

Students will practice speaking in the context of going out with friends. the lesson will start with a lead in by asking few questions and a freer group or pair discussion about going out. This is followed by pre-teaching vocabulary slides. Then students will watch and answer questions of practice 2a page 74. They will watch again and do task 2b. After that they will watch again and do task 2c page 74. Students will practice the conversation in task c which is practice f page 75. At the end, students will practice speaking the target language which is making suggestions by doing practice 2g page 75.

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T greets students. T projects a picture and ask students few questions on the slide. Ss answer questions so they can be prepared for the topic.

Exposure (4-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T projects new vocabulary to Ss 1 by 1. T elicit, ask CCQs, Ss drill, and see the written form.

Useful Language (7-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Ss watch a video about making suggestions then answer 2a page 74. Ss share their answers in groups. T check with students the answers by showing the answer key.

Productive Task(s) (27-30 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss watch a video about making suggestions then answer 2b page 74. Ss share their answers in groups. T check with students the answers by showing the answer key. Ss watch the video again. Ss do task 2c page 74 with T. Ss practice task 2c in groups which is task f page 75. Ss do practice 2g page 75 which is freer practice for speaking.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T gives students feedback and corrects their mistakes after writing it in an extra slide.
