To provide clarification of New words about murder in the context of murder story
Procedure (48-65 minutes)
The lesson starts with drawing a time line on the board and then continue whit story about murder.At the first Ss listen to the audio and find out what is story about and then they can read the text . Teacher asks CCQ For Example : When did the story happen? now ?past time ?( in the past) Have the verbs changed ?(yes) what has been added to them ?(ed or d)
T gives them new text and asks students to underline simple past regular verbs . And then students receive a HO(HO1) in which there are some infinitive with out to ,Ss should match them to the irregular past simple forms of the verbs in the text. Finally they check answers together .
Ss should write a survey of their class-mate's yesterday activities . Ss stand up and divided in to pair groups and ask each other :what did you do yesterday ? When everyone has completed their surveys, pool the answers to find out which of yesterday’s activities were the most common.
Playing days rope jump .. Lay the rope on the floor and stand facing the rope, so it is horizontal to you. Get all the students to stand on the rope facing you. yesterday = behind the rope today = on the rope tomorrow = in front of the rope teacher reads a sentences and says a name s/he should jump to correct side.
Ss should read the text one more time and answer true or false questions(HO2).Teacher controls them to look for their errors .Ss need to justify their reasons as well. finally teacher gets whole class feedback and show them the answers.
Ss receive new HO(HO3) Ss should fill in the blanks with correct form of irregular verbs .Ss do this part in pairs and check their answer. Teacher asks ICQs to check they have understood the instructions.
Ss receive new HO(HO4) they should rewrite the text in the past time and then change their seats to read it for their new partner. Teacher monitors them and finally corrects some of mistakes on the board.
