Procedure (45-55 minutes)
. Show a festival picture, and ask SS to guess what's that picture is about. . Pre-teach vocabulary by eliciting using the picture, SS try to answer, then show the words with their phonemic symbols. . Drill the new words. . Show pre-taught vocabs of the previous lesson and use CCQ to check for SS understanding:
- Ask SS to read practice1. - Show pictures, then put SS in pairs to discuss answers. - Get SS to read the text and check their answers. - Discuss answers with SS, then show answer keys.
- Ask SS to read true or false statements first, then ask them to read the text and check. - Students discuss answers in pairs. - Discuss answers with the class, then show answer keys. - Give SS the chance to read the text again and then match paragraphs with description. - SS share their answers with class. - Discuss answers, then show answer keys.
-Get SS to read the paragraph from the previous lesson. - Ask SS to write information about their festival using the paragraph using Padlet. - Use ICQ to check for instructions understanding. -Provide feedback on SS work. -Ask SS to write about their festival using the information they wrote on the previous task.
-Highlight errors using Padlet to show mistakes. - Discuss common mistakes.
