In this lesson Ls will learn about the differences between passive and active sentences, how to convert an active sentence to passive and the usage of the passive sentences

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will give Ls just the answer of these questions about his idea and involve the Ls : 1- What’s the most Amazing film you have seen recently?'The help' is the most amazing movie that I've seen recently. 2- What’s the most disappointing film you’ve seen recently ? 'The hills have eyes' is the most disappointing film that I've seen recently. 3- What is your ‘film of decade’ ? I can nominate ' The help','A separation' and 'Lady bird'. T will show the first slide and ask the Ls to ask the questions from each other in pair.(1-2 minutes) T will observe Ls and will lead them if it is necessary and make a note from mistakes which are related to the lesson. T will give the ask the Ls the exercise 2 and will show the second slide. T will observe Ls and will lead them if it is necessary and make a note from mistakes and will give them the meaning of some unknown words if it is necessary. T will give Ls the answers.2-3 minutes

Test #1 (4-6 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T will give Ls exercise 1a, p: 68 and ask them to do the exercise . T will observe and lead them if it was necessary. T will give the answers . T will give Ls exercise 1b, p:68 and will ask them to do the exercise . T will ask Ls to give the answers and discuss about it if it was necesary.

Teach (18-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T will give the general idea about active and passive sentences by giving Ls activity no. 1 from the grammar box p:69. T will give the answers one by one by the help of Ls .(4-6 minutes) T will ask the CCQs for each task: sentece 2 1- who is the subject in sentence no.2?(JK Rowling) 2- whom did she choose ?(Daniel) 3- Daniel is subject or object ? (object) * sentence 1 1- Do we know who was chosen? ( yes) 2- Do we know who chose Daniel? (No) T will elicit the construction of : 1- present simple passive and active . 2- past simple passive and active. 3- present continuous passive and active. 4- present perfect passive and active 5- future passive and active. T with giving them a verb for each tense. (10-12 minutes) T will ask CCQs about the passive to teach the usage of the passive 1- Do we use passive to show who is the ‘doer’?(No) 2- In passive sentences we put object at the beginning of the sentence or subject ?(object) 3- Do we often say who did the action? (No) 4- can we say who did the action in passive sentences?(Yes) . *******Note: If T found an extra time more than 5 minutes can do this task : T will give Ls exercise 2 from grammar box and will ask learners to do the exercise. T will observe Ls and will lead them if it was necessary. T will ask about the answers and go one by one to control the LS

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T will give learners exercise 1 and will give the instruction. T will observe Ls and will lead them if it was necessary. T will ask the answers one by one to get sure every body understood the lesson .

Free practice (6-8 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

T will give the construction to the Ls and will ask them to write a sentence for each one(active) . when they finished T will modeling on of the forms with one student and will ask Ls to follow. instruction : 1- L1 will read his sentence for L2 2- L2 will change the active sentence to passive sentence. etc. T will monitor and lead them if it was necessary.
