Procedure (46-61 minutes)
Draw Ss' attention to the photos and speech bubbles. Ask them to work in pairs and write a caption and use the three adjectives' hints. Ss will do it in pairs. Have feedback.
Tell Ss that now they will read a short story and choose the correct word 'adjective' in bold. Tell Ss not to worry if they struggle with the meaning or form as they will work on it later in the lesson. Ss will do it individually and then peer-check their answers. Don't show them the answer key as Ss will check in a later stage.
Show Ss HO3 and work on the rules of talking about feelings in pairs. Ss will do the exercise in pairs. Have whole-class feedback and ask a member from each pair to share their answer. Ask them to justify their answers. Elicit other suggestions from other members. Show them the answer key. Tell Ss that now they will do an exercise to apply what they've done in HO3 on the following exercise 'HO4'. Ss will do the exercise in pairs. Have whole-class feedback and ask other Ss if they agree/disagree with their classmates' answers. Show Ss the answer key and teach the MFP and use the CCQs in the language analysis. Drill the pronunciation and focus on word stress and -ed ending sound variation.
Ask Ss to read the story they read in the Test 1 stage. After having finished, tell Ss to compare their answers with the ones in Test 1. Ss will work individually and compare their answers with the first test. Have whole-class feedback.
Ask Ss to work in pairs and ask each other questions related to feelings. Ss will work in pairs and ask each other follow-up questions. Monitor discretely. Note down any error Ss could make and allow Ss to correct them. Have whole-class feedback.
Ask Ss to do the exercise in HO7 in pairs. Have whole-class feedback.
