In this lesson students listen to a dialogue about a job interview,then they discuss about the topic and speak fluently .

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a role play in the context of a job interview

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1. Great the students 2. divide students into three groups. each group 4 students 3. distribute sheets to answer some questions related to a job interview . a. Did you work part time last summer holiday? b. What was this job? c. were you happy or sad?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through listening to a dialogue

1. SS are going to listen to the track about a job interview. 2. discuss the difficult words in the HO1 with ss 3. Give ss a few seconds to read the questions then play the audio 4. let ss check in pairs 5. display the answer key on the whiteboard

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

1. divide the class into two groups. 2. first group play the role of a manger in a company and they set 3 questions to ask the interviewee in the following interview 3. second group imagine the role of the interviewee to answer these questions 4. Write the questions and answers on the white board .

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

1. Ask ss to look at the questions in HO2 , then ask them CCQs a. Does John manage the marketing department at the company ? No 2. Clarify the words ( sales department - tour- specialized)

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

1. collect errors 2. write examples of their language on the whiteboard and praise them . 3. correct their errors
