  • Writing and speaking which will be done in the activities organised by the teacher.

Procedure

Warmer lead in (3-10 minutes) • To get students interested in the Lesson.

The teacher will welcome students to the class and introduce her name. Teacher will introduce the lesson by asking students what they think the passive voice is? Teacher will elicit the answers and then write them on the board. Teacher will also explain that the passive is formed with the the verb "be" in the correct form and explain to them that in this case we are talking about the past participle so our verb to be will be was or were or had been to talk about the past)+ past participle.Teacher will also ask students why we use the passive voice through Eliciting. After that introduction,I will remind them that they looked at various past participles in the previous lesson, then ask to check understanding where the passives are normally used.

practicing stage two/speaking. (3-10 minutes) • To help students discover the meaning of the target language.

Here the teacher together with the students will take a look at the marker sentence and the teacher will instruct students to do exercise 1 individually and students should be able to answer the questions,i will discourage them from looking at the news paper stories on 62,I will ask then to check with their partners, elicit and then write the correct answers on the board and explain that unlike in the active sentences, in the passive sentences, the subject of the active sentence becomes object in the passive sentence.I will point out that all newly formed passive sentences demonstrate different tenses and get them to discuss them in groups then later we do whole class checking.

Reading Stage (3-7 minutes) • To help students discover the meaning of the target language.

Teacher will give students hand out two and instruct them to find and underline other example structures of passive in the past participle in pairs in order to check their understanding of the target language and then after this the teacher will do whole class feed back and get students one by one writtng answers on the board. Teacher will after that ask students to go back to the answers on their first hand out and read out the explanations aloud and ask students to put their hands up if they think they are correct.

speaking and controlled exercises. (3-10 minutes) • To do more practice of the target language.

I will read the marker sentence with the whole class, and do some CCQs for example, the oscar nominations have been announced. Have we mentioned the doer? Who is the doer? D we need to mention the doer?I will ask the students to to rewrite the remaining sentences in groups of threes as i monitor.I will check the answers through asking students in different groups to read out their answers and then make corrections where neccessary .I then give them a gap fill to complete individually if time or as a a take home for further practice.
