To provide specific information about places to enable the students to describe cities, towns and to give practice in them.
Subsidiary Aims

To give Ss practice new vocabularies in listening for inference and in semi-controlled speaking.
Procedure (31-44 minutes)
Introduce context of the places and towns during a football match. T will draw a circle on the board named Istanbul and ask the student what places they know in Istanbul. then T will ask them to take a look to pictures of different cities that were pasted on the wall all over the class and ask them to guess what the city is and what places they can see in the picture. Then the T will ask them what they have seen.
T will give the students small pictures and ask them to paste them on the wall then T will give them HO about the places and ask the Ss to match between the lexis and the pictures on the wall. Then the T will ask Ss to check their answers with their partners and she will give them the answer key to check
T will write the following words on the board while they are checking their answers: Station: Bus station/ flat, house, apartment, flat/ museum / hotel, bed and breakfast/lake,river,sea/ mountains/ The teacher will elicit the meaning as well as the differences using ICQs ad drilling museum: Can we sleep in it? no concentrate on pouncing bed and breakfast
The T will focus on the pictures of Auckland in New Zealand, Keswick in England, Eyeries in Ireland. T will give HO of nine sentences to the students and will ask them to listen to three conversations related to the three countries and they will categorize these sentences according to the three countries. and then ask them to work in pairs.
T will write on the board some of the sentences they'll hear from the conversation "There's a beautiful lake near the town, There are lots of things to do in the evening. Are there any cheap places to stay?" and will focus on the intonation while drilling.
T will give the students HO asking them to write their favourite cities and countries and what places there are in these cities and then the T will ask them to ask two of their friends about their favourite cities and what places there are in these cities. T will ask them about their favourite cities and ask them about their friends.
The teacher will give list of letters which spell out a number of words related to the same topic. Ss have to write down the letters and then work out what the individual words are.
