• To practice in listening in listening for specific information in the same context.
Procedure (29-40 minutes)
Now we are going to talk about your favorite drink and dessert. With your partner talk about your favorite drink and dessert. for example , My favorite drink is tea . I drink it twice a day . and my favorite dessert is brownie . I often order them when I go to the restaurant.
- Ask Ss to look at the coffee shop menu and match the words with pictures. -Demonstrate the first one. -Give them two minutes to do the task. -After finishing ask them to check in pairs. -Show pictures of these words (filter coffee - Espresso- cappuccino- chocolate chip cookies -brownies) -Ask them to guess what can you see in pictures ? To elicit the answer. -Give them task to match the word with the meaning . - ask them to work alone first in three minutes then check in pairs. -Dirll for pronunciation. -ask them about the kind of the words. - clarify the meaning of these words ( separate- regular)
Ex(B) Ask them in pairs to cover the words and test your partner -Demonstrate the first one . Ex (a) Buying a coffee , -Ask the student Ss to listen carefully and answer these two questions . -Ask How many questions are you going to answer? -Play the audio. Ask them if they need to listen again ? -check in pairs - Ask them to look at this dialogue listen again and complete the you hear phrases. -play the audio -ask them to check in pairs Ex (b) ask them to listen again but repeat you say copy the rhythm. EX 2 (a) complete the missing words in these phrases. -Give them 3 minutes - Then check in pairs
Okay guys Do you like to play an interesting game ? - imagine that you are in real coffee shop -write their roles in paper and fold it , let them to choose a paper so it will be your role - This is the menu of the coffee . Ask them to read it first and decide what are you going to order?
