Procedure (36-46 minutes)
Students will be asked about their friendships with lead in questions such as: Do you have friends from primary school/secondary school? Do you speak with each other now? How often do you meet?
I will elicit some of the target language vocabulary required to complete the worksheet exercises using flash cards. Then I will ask the following question: "What is a good friend?" and personalize the context to answer with my feedback. A good friend listens, is nice, helps me when I need help...... Then I will ask the students to do pair work and and speak with each other about qualities of good friends... I will monitor students meanwhile.
Students will be able to configure context from the picture in the worksheet, I will ask what are the women doing? Then I will ask the students to fill in the blanks with the words provided. Ex. 1A After they finish I will ask them to check in pairs their answers.
Students will pair up and ask the exercises questions about close friends, How long have you known him? Where did you meet him? Once they have finished they will change pairs and ask answer the same questions to different partners. Ex. 1B
Students will give feedback to class of their partners close friends. I will monitor the accuracy of spoken language, and give delayed feedback at the end. If necessary I will write sentences containing errors to correct.
If there is time left over, students can practice their target language for given situations of friendship on the board.
