In this lesson students will learn how to use the present simple by talking about their habits or daily routine , facts and fixed dates or time tables in their lives

Main Aims

  • By the end of thhis lesson students will be able to talk about their daily routine or what they do during the week ,important dates or the fixed times in their life

Subsidiary Aims

  • students will improve their speaking skill through the free parctice activities

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T will divide the board into 3 parts to write the Ss' answers for questions about their daily routine in work , questions about fixed times or dates in their work and questions about facts in their life as In the first part : 1-how many days they go to work in the week ? 2-how do they usually go to work ? 3-if they have friends they always eat with in the lunch time ? In the second part 4- in which time their work starts and finishes exactly ? 5-in which time do they have a break ? In the third part :

Clarification (10-15 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-T will elicit the usages of the present simple(:1- daily routine or habits 2-timetables 3-facts or things in general 4-with state verbs as (like, love,want,hate,...)) from the Ss by asking them questions about their answers ,then the form and pronunciation -T ask Ss for examples about their daily routine in their work or in general

Controlled Practice (5-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-Ss will do the exercise in the book to practice the affirmative ,negative forms and questions

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

1-''Guessing game '' students will try to find out about the other's habits and lifestyles as each student will write the names of other students in the class in the column. The student then read each sentence and decide whether it is true or false by putting a tick or cross in the next column after asking any one in the class . Students then find out if their guesses are right or wrong . They do this by checking their guess with the person who is the subject of the sentence .The student with the most correct guesses is the winner.

Free practice #2 (8-12 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T will ask the students to write the things they usually do during the week , then divide the Ss into pairs and ask them to share their routine together and find if they have common things they do -T will ask each pair about the common things between them or about his partner routine

Error correction and feedback (2-3 minutes) • To correct the students mistakes in the free practice

-T write the grammatical mistakes the students made during the free practice on the board -T ask the Ss to find the mistakes and correct them -T provides feedback

Tasks • To help students to study the lesson

-Ss will write a paragraph about their daily routine or their routine during the week -Ss will do exercise from the book - Ss will do a listening exercise - Ss will describe a person ( a family member or best friend )
