Procedure (47-64 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

_ T ask ls Are you shopaholic?do you enjoy shopping? or find it relaxing?

set context (10-12 minutes) • to generate interest in the topic of the lesson

_(self-made)power point T asks students 3 questions to talk about it in pairs CCQs : individually or in pairs ? and you have 2 mins

pre-teach vocabularies (5-7 minutes) • to prevent Ls bloking on unknown vocabulary iin the questions or answers

T pre-teaches the vocabulary items (addict,frustrated,look alike) through the power point presentation highlighting form, meaning and pron. CCQs :

gist task (14-16 minutes) • to give Ls a reason to listen at a general level

_T ask Ls to listen carefully to the recording _T ask Ls to tell her who is talking to whom? _and also tell her if she is a shopaholic or not? _T after giving clear instructuions play the recording.

specific information task (5-7 minutes) • to give Ls a reason to listen for individual items of information

_T ask ls to read Qs once _T ask ls to listen again: instructions:u are going to listen again and tick the question as u hear. _check in pairs _T write up the answers

detailed task (5-7 minutes) • to give Ls a reasoon to listen at detailed level

_T ask learners to listen again and write the answers _ICQS :why are u listening ? to write the answers. _peer check _show the correct answers in power point.

follow up (5-10 minutes) • to give Ls chance to balance productive and receptive skills

_T put students into A/B groups. _Instructions:u are going to write a short paragraph between Katy and one of her friends who wants to give her some advice ABOUT HER SHOPPING ADDICTION. _Encourage them to role play and swap partners both have the chance to practice giving advice. _FB
