  • To provide practice of The Present Perfect and Past Simple in initial questions about life experience and further conversation about details. in the context of Shopping

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review of online and offline shopping lexis

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Asking questions about the way her own Shop is set up.

Pre-teach vocabulary (5-8 minutes) • To review previously learned lexis

Show pictures and ask the S to match them with the words.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through an exercise

Fill in gaps exercise, modelling upcoming freer practice.

Useful Language (3-5 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Bring the S's attention to the use of Pr Perf to first say or ask about an experience and then Past Simple to speak about the details of that past experience.

Productive Task - Speaking (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice speaking skills.

We start with questions and answers from the previous exercise and continue with our own ideas of questions about shopping experience.

Feedback and Error Correction (4-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Clarification and exercise on pronunciation or repeating grammar errors.
