Procedure (34-46 minutes)
The teacher asks the students to tell him a funny story that happened to them during the last week.
The teacher starts to tell them his own story and displays it written on the board.
The teacher asks the students to highlight all the verbs that end with ed and asks them to guess why do these verbs end with ed.
The teacher starts to present the meaning of the past simple tense and its form and the regular and irregular verbs. Then he asks the students to give him examples using the past simple tense.
The teacher provides the students with a task in which they should choose the right form of the verbs to make the sentences in the simple past tense.
The teacher asks the students to write a paragraph about the funny story that happened to them last week using the simple past tense. Then, they work in pairs and starts to check each others' works.
