Description

In this lesson, students learn new vocab through guided discovery based on watching a video (listening) about a successful digital campaign “dare to be tender” made by Milka in 2013. Then they will be encouraged to discuss the add, use the new words.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

• Ask students to raise their hand if they like chocolate. And which brands?

Pre-Listening (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

• Do you believe that eating chocolate can affect our feelings, attitude? • Divide them into two groups where one is for and the other one is against and say why? • Explain Today we’re going to be exposed to a successful digital campaign case study of one of the chocolate companies.

While-Listening #1 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

• Asking them what they think of the campaign? • Did it affect the relationships between people? •

While-Listening #2 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

• After listening for the first time, I'll introduce the new vocab and drill them. • In pairs, students will complete the sentences while watching the video for the next time. • They will check their answers with each other, then the teacher will show them on the data show

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

• Ask students to make a situation using the new vocab and act or role-play it. • Students will act or role-play the word they had. • The teacher will check with the Ss if they achieved the outcomes of the lesson.
