Procedure (20-28 minutes)
- Teacher greets the students - Teacher shows the students some pictures that depicts actions. - Teacher tries to elicit those actions form the students. One thing to note is that the to be elicited sentences need to be in the present continuous.
- When the teacher elicit the required sentences, Teacher will ask further questions related to the pictures introduces in order to expose students to the target language. Example: * WHERE is the girl eating? * WHY is the baby crying? - Teacher briefly explains the meaning of the target language. - To assure understanding and make it more students centred, teacher will hand out two kinds of strips of papers, one the two will have the wh-questions and the other will contain the use of each one. - Students into two groups will have to match the definitions to the wh-questions. - Teacher will make sure that the two groups are balanced by placing the two high achievers he has in different groups. - Once students are finished, the teacher invites them to the board to stick their answers. - whole class check and feedback
- Teacher hand out an exercises that she made. - Students will have to fill in the gaps in the exercises using the wh-questions. - whole class feedback
