-I tell ss that they are going to listen to people trying to solve the riddle and they have to decide if the solution they had found was the same.
-I ask ss to listen again and ask them what the solution of the riddle. -I elicit the marker sentence: When the sun had come out, the snowman melted. _CCQs: How many tenses are there in this sentence? Two Are they the same? No -I give Ss HO1 -Ss check in pairs first, then from the ppt
-I write the marker sentence and draw a timeline on the board. -I elicit the sequence of the two actions from Ss and apply them on the timeline. -I elicit the form. -Drilling.
-I give Ss hand-outs and ask them to match the sentences using the past perfect.
Ss work in pairs: Ss A look at the puzzle A and the solution to puzzle B. Ss B looks at puzzle B and the solution to puzzle A. They ask and answer questions to find the solution to his/ her puzzle. The quickest is the winner.
I monitor and take notes for some correct and incorrect sentences. I write the sentences on the board. Praise those who said the correct sentences. As Ss to correct the wrong ones.
I give SS HO2, they play a game:" Why did you say that?" using the past perfect tense.
