Description

This lesson will focus on grammatical use of past perfect continuous in the context arts. Students will form sentences from the given materials and use the sentences to practice speaking among themselves .there will be short reading and questions to be answered about the text..

Main Aims

To give students the chance to form and use the target language from the given materials.Learners will use the language to speak in the context of arts

Subsidiary Aims

Students will read a text and answer questions about it .Students will use skimming method to read quickly the text and answer questions from the teacher.

Procedure (27-45 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (3-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher will ask students questions about the text before they read it ::what is the text about? This painting is from who?.Student will work in pair to quickly read a text..When they finish reading ,they will check their answers in pairs and in groups. Then one student from each group says the answers to the wholeclass.

Exposure (8-12 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Continuing from the lead-in the teacher elicits some questions on arts from the students and waits for answers.After this ,the teacher pastes some pictures on the whiteboard and elicits more sentences from the students.The teacher gives some assistance to help the student make sentences.. Then divides the board in to two and write the sentences on both sides of the board for the students to match them together.After this ,the teacher shows the form with timeline and ask concept questions .

Controlled Practice (8-12 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The students will be given some printed words on slips that are cut in to pieces to arrange them into sentences.students work in groups to do this and they will read out the sentences when they finish..

Free Practice (8-11 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

At this stage students will mingle to speak with each other by using the target language and swap partners to continue the speaking.
