Procedure (36-44 minutes)
Tell introduction about negative adjective with simple example such as happy/unhappy. Pre teaching about how to make negative adjectives. If an adjective began with p, we use im If an adjective began with r, we use ir un some times has a meaning of reversing of an action like undo. other example like incorrect and unhappy.
split the wight board in two main part. put the negative on one side and positive on the other. like correct and incorrect, happy and unhappy. students look at audio script 1.34 on page 138 and find 7 adjectives with negative prefixes and put them in the table.
Elicit the meaning of new lexis like honest, probable, polite, accurate. They saw this in the audio script so they have a little background. Asking CCQs like polite; are old or middle age persons expect to be respected by young people? yes honest; Are parents expect from their children to tell lie to them? no Students decide which negative prefix goes with these adjectives and put them in the table. work in groups.
students complete the sentences with a negative adjective from the table in exercise 1. they will compare their answers with a partner before I check with the class. changing the partners.
