Procedure (31-39 minutes)
Teacher shows a picture of an accident and people taking photos . Teacher also shows the title of the lesson and asks students to guess the topic of the reading lesson that they are going to read . Teacher gets the answers from students.
Teacher shows the topic of the reading text on the screen . Teacher presents the meaning of the new vocabulary to help students understand the text (Blocking Words)
Teacher asks students to look at the questions that they will answer. Teacher asks students to scan the text to answer questions like : How many accidents have been mentioned in the text ? When did the earthquake hit the Caribbean island of Haiti? T monitors the students while they are reading so that he can see whether they understand it or not. Students read the text for a second time to answer the open questions in exercises (b,c and e)
After finishing the reading and answering the questions , teacher asks students to tell him about any accidents that happened in front of them where they act as journalists and send the news to other people, or where they knew about it through the social media. Teacher gives them the opportunity to talk about themselves.
