Description

In this lesson, the students will learn how to ask WH questions from other people, especially from their friends. questions like "what languages do you speak". There is also group work as they will ask questions both from other students and from me as an instructor. Also, there is a writing section too. in this section, students will learn how to fill personal profile such as application for students visa, they will learn how and when they must use capital letters. In the end, as a little practice, they will correct the mistakes of a passage.

Main Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in wh questions in the context of conversion between friends
  • To provide process writing practice of a essay in the context of personal profile

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a wh questions in the context of conversion
  • To provide product writing practice of a essay in the context of personal profile

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Give the handout to students and let them take a look at that alone.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

Let the students ask wh questions and then teach them how to ask wh questions in an accurate from.

Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ask wh questions from other students and work in pairs and then ask questions from me.

Task (4-6 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students into the new stage of the lesson

Give them new hand out about writing and let them take a look at it.

Report (6-8 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went

They will write down the personal profile and then I will look at that and help them to correct their mistakes.

Language Analysis (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the task language

I will teach them how and when they must use capital letters. I will bring students on the board and tell them to write their name and surname or their country and city of birth.

Language Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

We will correct the mistakes of a passage regarding capital letters.
