Procedure (46-62 minutes)
Welcome students. Ask them how they feel and respond genuinely. Show learners a short video about Gru's daily routine. Ask SS to write down ''What do you think the person in the video does in his day?'' Listen to their answers. Attract Ls attention to the pictures around the class. Explain that these are some activities from different daily routines. Chest HO 1. Tell Ls that they need to read the verb phrase and try to find its picture then write the number of the picture next to the verb phrase. Allow them to check their answers in pairs. Give feedback.
Chest HO 2. Tell Ls that they need to match each verb to some of the collocations that can be used with it. Monitor carefully to know their errors. Allow learners time to exchange their sheets to review and discuss their partners' answers.
Let the students listen to check their answers to test 1. Focus on the areas the Ls do not already know. Elicit the meaning from the students using pictures and asking the students to find the phrase that can be matched to the picture from the previous test. Drill the correct pronunciation and focus on stress patterns and linking while drilling. Use a different color to write prepositions to make it easier for them to remember the right preposition to use e.g.''I live in a flat.''
Divide Ls into group (A) and group (B). Stick some verbs on the whiteboard and print cards with collocations. Tell them to work together and stick the right collocation next to each verb. Demonstrate with them if needed. Monitor carefully and check that Ls have improved in their knowledge of the TL. Provide help whenever necessary. Give open class feedback and praise good use of TL and correct any errors sensitively.
Ask learners to take a minute to think of the activities that they usually do. Instruct learners to move around the class talking to other students about their activities. Instruct them to speak in full correct sentences. Ask them to write the name of the Ss that they have something in common with. Monitor for good uses of language and inaccurate ones. Give content and language feedback.
