Description

In this lesson learners will focus on one of the skill which is listening and as out put of the class there will be the productive skill of speaking. The context of the lesson is based on celebrities and what they love and what they hate. students are not familiar with this topic because they have not studied celebrities before but the picture of the celebrity with its name might help many of them may know (johny depp). In this session students will listen and test their understanding of listening through matching the words from the box to the pictures of the celebrity and throw activities which involves doing exercises, such as complete the sentences with the verbs in the box, listening to what the celebrity like or hate or frightened of .The main practice in this lesson for students is that they will practice how to relate the vocabularies and questions to the real life things or topics, these activities of relating the listening texts to the pictures or preference texts with pictures will make students practice the skill of listening and practice the questions and the vocabularies for meaning which is very useful in day to day life.These activities will help student to derive the meaning from the text by listening to the small text . most of the activities will be reading,listening, and answering about different vocabularies and then students will be discussing after the listening. Apart from the lead in teacher will play a passive role and will be monitoring students for the errors and to provide assistance. The out put of the lesson will be speaking where students will be asked to speak with their partners about their favorite shows and channels.

Main Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about loves and hates To provide a scan and detailed reading practice throw a pre-listening activity and while listening and a post listening activity.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of loves and hates in the context of dog .doll.clown.crowd.spider.TV.flying and doing house work
  • To provide fluency in asking and answering about what they love and what they hate throw talking about what celebrity loves and hate .

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

i will provid a slide with the title (cv) i will write on it my name. my age. my hobbies.what i love and what i hate in food .my biggest fear and what i want to be .then i am going to ask them to wtite the same on paper and we are going to call it (cv)then they can discuss in pair then i will open group discussion .

Pre-Reading/Listening (9-15 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

1- tells students ,"you are gonna choose from the words in the box and match it to the pictures and say if they hate.love or frightened of these things . " 2- Teacher demonstrates and asks ICQs," are you gonna choose from the words in the box?" 3- tells students ," first look at the vocabularies and tell me if you can't understand the meaning of any of them. now match and you have a 5 minute. 4- Teacher let the students check together then listen to the answers. 5-drill the pronounciation of any hard word. 6-tell them to look at the picture of any famous celebrity and try to guess what he hates and what he loves

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with specific information listening tasks

1- students listen and check their prediction and match the people with the things they love or hate 2 students check together 3- then i am going to open group discussion

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

1 -they are now going to listen but this time for details they are going to listen to what the celebrity like and but right to what they love and cross for what they dont like that mean detailes . 2-while they listening shows the pictures of one of the celebrity and ask them some CCQs to elicit the love or hate for what "what kind of(....) (celebrity name) he love?, do you love the same?, 3- i will let students check their answers rogether 4-i will open class discussion

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1- i am going to ask students ..does cameron diaz watch tv ....the answer will be no . 2- we notice that we used the present simple in the affirmitive form and negative form (this like a quick revise for the brevious lesson . 3-i am not going to explain the present simple i am only going to drill the pronounciation. 4- i will give the students a chance to respond to the text . i will change the pairs and i will tell them to ask their partner about two things that he lovee and two things that he doesnt love . then i will ask each pair to share this with the other groups
