Procedure (43-58 minutes)
- Teacher greets Ss - Teacher ask Ss what their favourite school subject is / where are you from ? ( review of the previous lesson ) - Teacher review the short and full form of the verb to be
- Teacher asks one student ,Are you Moroccan? - Ss :Yes. - Teacher corrects, yes I am. - Teacher asks another student, are you Japanese? - Ss : No. - Teacher corrects, no I am not. - Teacher goes around asking Ss similar questions and correcting when necessary.
- Teacher asks Ss different questions : Are you from Tangier?/Are a doctor?/Are 30 years old?/Is English your favourite school subject. - Ss read the dialogue on page 20 and put the colored forms of the verb to be in the right columns. - Teacher write the interrogative form of the verb to be on the board along with the negative form with the help of the students.
- Students will be asked to do exercises 2 and 3 on page 21 individually at first and later on check in pairs. - Teacher adds an additional exercise: Fill in the blanks with the appropriate answer. 1/ ............... you from America ?
