Procedure

Lead-in (4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1) Display pictures for snacks on the LCD (pizza/ guacamole dip/ popcorn / bagel) 2) Ask students are these main meals? and elicit the word "snacks" 3) Talk in a minute about your favorite snack and how often do you eat it. 4) Ask them in pairs to talk about their favorite snacks.

Exposure (8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through listening

1) Pre-teach "avocado/guacamole", "kernel", "cilantro" and "dough" by displaying images on the LCD. 2) Ask the students to listen to four people telling the recipe of their favorite snacks. 3) Chest HO 1 and ask them to number the pictures of the recipes from 1 to 4 according to the order of the recipes they listen. 4) Play Track 27. 5) Pause after the first recipe and make sure they are on task by giving direct feedback then play the track again. 6) Monitor while they are listening to make sure they are on task. 7) Ask them to check their answers in pairs. 8) Give O/C feedback.

Useful Language (4-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

1) Chest HO 2 and ask the students to put the sentences in order to form the recipe of the popcorn. 2) Ask them to work in pairs. 3) set time limit to finish the task ( 2 minutes) 4) Monitor to make sure they are on task. 5) Give them answer key. 6) Elicit by asking what are words that show order of the steps? "First," "Then," "Next," "After that," " Finally,"

Speaking Task (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills
