Procedure (74-107 minutes)
Make basic conversation and see how everyone is doing
Students discuss what is most important about getting through the work day and what the most important factors are for enjoying work and completing tasks.
Students discuss the differences between a 'reward' and an 'incentive' and discuss how their company motivates them to do well at their job.
Students read aloud. According to the text: What is an incentive scheme? What opinion does the author have about incentive schemes vs cash rewards?
Students answer questions about specific details within the text, particularly about the advantages and disadvantages regarding incentive schemes and cash rewards.
Students examine the vocabulary in the text and define the key terms, relating them to what was read.
Listen to texts and answer questions about work incentives.
Look through terms from the audio and identify them either as material or non-material
Go through the exercises in the practice file to reinforce new vocabulary
