Procedure (33-45 minutes)
T writes sentences on the board and draws Ss attention to subject pronouns of those sentences. "This is Peter. He is fourteen. Kate is my sister. She is 17 years old. This is my umbrella. It is red."
T wants Ss to scan the reading texts to find and circle the subject pronouns. Then Ss read some of the sentences with the subject pronouns.
T writes down all of the subject pronouns on the board and writes example sentences next to the each pronoun. (examples for "he, she and it" are still written on the board")
Ss complete the sentences with subject pronouns on section B. Ss read their answers one by one. If there is a wrong answer, T asks whole class for the correct answer. Then, Ss look at the pictures on section C and choose the correct word in italics for each picture. Again, Ss read their answers one by one and if there is a wrong answer, T asks whole class for the correct answer.
Ss listen to the conversation between two people (audio file 1.3). Then they practice it with their pairs by reading.
Ss write new dialogues with the help of: 1. the conversation that they have listened and practiced 2. prompts for introducing self on page 2. Ss select a healthcare job, then they ask for and give personal information about themselves through the dialogues. Ss can ask T for help. When writing part is over, pairs will act out their dialogues.
