Procedure (35-45 minutes)
The teacher will start with a revising of the present perfect from the previous day. The teacher draw a table on the whitheboard with some verbs in the infinitive form and then ask the students to give the present perfect form of each word. the teacher then will ask some of the students to get to the board and write the answers.
The teacher will explain the present perfect continuous, will write the explanation on the board and the form of the tense. Use MFP to make sure the students understood the tense. The students should drill the form of the tense, chorally and individualy.
The teacher willhand over the handouts to the students, and after that play an audio and tells the students to listen to it. The students listen to the audio 2 times to the audio and then the teacher tells the students to answer exercise 1 in Language focus part. The students will take sometime to fill in the gaps of the sentences. And finally, the teacher tells the students to give answers and the students should share their answers in class.
The teacher will give exercise 2 and tells the students to answer it based on the audio played in the CD. The students will then give their answers. The teacher will seperate the students into 2 groups and tells them to choose from the previous exercise the sentences with the present perfect simple and the present perfect continuous. And at the end, each group gives the sentences of the tenses.
The teacher gives the students the last exercise to practice and make sure they understood the tenses thought. The Students work individually the practice exercise and then the teacher them to share their final answers with the class. In case of extra time, the teacher tells students to think of some sentences using both tenses.
