in this lesson students will write a holiday email. They will sit in pairs. First, students will learn some vocabulary items and do a grammar drill by joing sentences with and and but. Also, will use apostrophes for contractions and possessives. After that, they will fill an email with but and and. After all, they will write a holiday email with phrases to help them.

To set lesson context and engage students. The teacher reminds them of sending messages to their friends using their mobile phones Or, using their electronic emails such as Yahoo.
Exposure to connectors using but and and; use of apostrophes as contractions and possessives (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening
The teacher drills the use of but and and in an exercise. Also, the same with apostrophes.
Grammar: But and And. Apostrophes: contractions and possessives. (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks
Students answer the questions in the workbook related to connectors But and And and the exercise about apostrophes.
