Description

In this lesson, students will listen twice to some statements, work in pairs to answer some comprehension questions, then work in groups to check each others answers and finaly write statements and compare their country to nearby countries.

Procedure (34-40 minutes)

Warmer (3-5 minutes) • To set the lesson and engage students in focusing

The lesson will start by some questions to prepare the students for our listening and get their attention.

While Listening 1 (10-10 minutes) • To provide students with an audio to listen to it and answer the questions given

The students will listen to the first recording for two times and answer the questions given, then discuss their answers in pairs and see the similarity in each others answers.

While Listening 2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with the second audio and its exercise

The students will then listen to the second recording again for two times to make it clear for them and then compare the sentences recorded with the the informations given in the book and finaly decide which of those sentences are true and which are false.

Exercise (6-8 minutes) • Try to make examples based on the previous execrcise

The students will work in pairs and try to write statements some of which are true and some are false and then share the sentences with an other pair who should guess the true and the false ones.

Post Listening (5-5 minutes) • To observe what the students learnt

At the end the students will have an exercise to express themselves and compare different things between their country and other countries and then compare their answers and ideas in groups.
