To provide specific information listening practice using a text about first time I fall in love in the context of love
Procedure (45 minutes)
Place some envelopes on the board and put some of the quotations in them. Make a group of 4 students and ask one of the members to come to the board and take one of the envelopes. Ss share their ideas about the quotation in groups. project the sentences on the board and ask what they said in their groups.
Ss write 3 sentences about the given question in pairs in box 1 with given pictures. what are some of the effects of being in love? possible answers: 1.can not sleep 2.can not think 3.can not...... 4....... Ss listen to ex. 37 p.24 and fill the chart. check their answers with their partner.give ss the answer key. Ask ss to fill the second box in pairs about what are some of the effects of love? compare their answers with box 1. Ss write some answers on the board. answer key: 1.stay up all night. 2.fly like a bird. 3.heartbeat goes up. 4.he/she makes me go all weak on my knees.
Ss do ex.2 individually. check answers with partners. Ss write the answer on the board. Ss do exercise 3 in pairs. Give them the answers on the back of their papers. Check stress and pronunciation of concentrate ,adore, crush,heartbreak. Demonstrate them on the board model and drill.
Ask ss the question: Have you ever been in love? Where was the first time? think about it. Ask students to draw a place they first fell in love very in 1 min.give them hints(university,park,on a travel,party) in groups of 5 ss one by one show the picture and other guess where it was,then she/he talks for 1 min about her/his love story. Ss find which story is interesting and funny. each group tell the class about their best story.
Ss tell the class their sentences,I write some mistakes on the board and ask ss to correct them in their groups. Choose one of the students from each group to come to the board to correct the mistakes.
