T :" me, too. T: who likes chocolate? S2: I like . T : I like it , too. who does not like fish? S3 : I don't like . T: I don't like it, too. OK dears , we want to speak about similarities today. we call the similar things as COINCIDENCE.
T sticks some pictures (two copies of each one) on the board and want the students to match them with each other. every body which gather more correct is he winner.
T draw two people ( a girl and a boy) on the board: they are on their first date and are eager to know more about each other. After greeting , the girl says : I like the rainy day. The boy : i like it , too. girl: I have a dog. boy: wow, so do I. Boy : I don't have any sibling( brother or sister)/ girl: really? neither do I. after that teacher asks them : are they agree each other or disagree? Ss: agree They have similarities or differences. so we call this : COINCIDENCE
T write on the boards words and phrases and clarify their Meaning, Form and Phonology. COINCIDENCE :noun /kəʊˈɪn.sɪ.dəns/ so : So do I | soʊ du: ˈaɪ | neither : UK /ˈnaɪ.ðər/ /ˈniː.ðər/ US /ˈnaɪ.ðɚ/ /ˈniː.ðɚ/ neither do I : | ˈniːðər du: ˈaɪ | SO + Auxiliary + Subject (pronoun) Either + Auxiliary + Subject (pronoun) Neither + Auxiliary + Subject (pronoun) So am I. (I am too.) Neither am I. (I’m not either.)
T give them a multiple choice task and ask them to answer them individually for 2 minutes. ICQS: how many Q?5 Q s. by group? yes how much time? 2 min T alarmed them :one minutes left. After that T asks them to share their answers. after feedback,T asks them one by one to answer the questions orally.
T : OK guys. You were brilliant for the previous task . now as a reward, lets play a game. "give me five" have you heard it? T show its by gesturing and shaking her palm to one of their palm. give them a table and tell them instruction : ok , we have a table with three columns. first column contain some sentences . second column is about agreement that you have the same idea (so do I and neither do I ) and third column contains disagreement that you have different idea ( oh I don't). Read the sentences carefully and answer them.Do not show your answer to the others. you have 2 minutes, lets go. T monitor them from distance and pretend that she is doing her own work. After that , T tells hem if your answers are them same, give high fives. T read the sentences and they tell their answer and if they are the same, they shake their palms with each others.
T ask them write 5 sentence about their friend which are the same with them e.g. Sara likes spaghetti , so do I. she did not use to eat it, neither did I. give them five minutes. after that , T asks them to share their ideas with each other for two minutes. then, T asks them to tell about their partner's sentences .Teacher gives feedback/error correction, then they swap partners and repeat the exercise having taken the feedback on board.
