Procedure (45-59 minutes)
1)I will show them a video about the five senses. 2)I will ask them to discuss in pairs what is this video talking about? 3) I will ask them to see their answers. 4)I will ask how many senses have we got? we have got 5 senses. 5) what are the five senses? their answers (sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch)
1)I will ask them where are your eyes they will point to it. *I will tell them to cover their eyes with their hands and ask, can you see anything now? No, we can't (they will say). *So which body part helps us to see? eyes.i will write see and eyes on the board in the new vocab place and clarify that see is a verb this is an action we do, and eyes are a plural noun and this is the name of this organ. I will repeat it and ask them to repeat after me. In the third place on the board (clarification or the new structure place) I will write: I can see with my eyes. 2) I will ask where is your nose? they will point to it and I will say our nose help us to...... I will act the action of smelling to elicit smell. *I will ask them to put it in a full sentence and write it in the third place. 3) I will do the same with the rest of the words and verbs. 4) I will look at them and point to any part of my face and create a sentence. ex: point to my ears they will say I can hear with my ears and so on.
I will turn my students' attention to the third place on the board and clarify the language. I can +v+ with my+ noun I can smell with my nose. and so on. I will highlight that (can) comes with all the pronouns like (he, she, it, I, we, you, they). I will bring couples to the board and ask them to point to each other and create sentences using( he and she). I will not highlight the possessive adjectives (his and her) I will just say them as sight words.
According to the stages above, my students now know the meaning, I will just correct their pronunciation by repetition.
I will stick a task on the wall and divide my students into two groups or more according to their number and give 2 minutes for each group to answer it, after that I will ask them to switch and each group will correct the other group mistakes and select a winner according to the taken time.
I will write a question on the board: How can you, smell, taste, touch or see? I will ask a student to come to the board and ask him how can you see? He will say I can see with my eyes this as a demonstration for the other students then I will bring two students to come to the board and ask and answer in front of the other students (Short conversation) I will ask the rest of my students to work in pairs and act the conversation. 1) I will correct any founded mistakes.
1)I will ask them to write 3 sentences about the five senses. or, I will ask them to search on the internet with their parents to find out some information about today's subject or pictures and write from 3: 5 simple sentences about it.
