Main Aims

To provide detailed information through listening practice using a text book about the context of life in Melbourne in the context of culture
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide students with tasked based approach to listening using audio files in order to improve the students' speaking abilities.
Procedure (29-40 minutes)
During the warm up procedure, T shows the same cues which are in the book without their titles and T tells them to look at the cues and talk about them for 2 minutes. After a quick brain storming, teacher takes the ideas from the students.
The T gives handouts to the students, She wants from students to talk about whether their ideas and visuals are matching. After that she explains the vocabulary items that they may not be familiar with.
In the listening part students will see a questionnaire about the life in Melbourne. Firstly, Students will have two minutes for scanning he questions. After, T Teacher plays the audio and students answers questions.
In that part, students will listen to the audio as a second time to check their answers. After they listen it, they will check their answers as a peer or as a group.
As a post listening activity, they will work as a pair to describe their favourite place and they will talk about their city by using unit's vocabulary items. After that they will give some information about their friends.
