Ater that I will ask what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you see the word celebrations. Discuss in pairs the best celebration that you ever been to. elicit some ideas.
I will tell them you have 3 different celebrations on the wall, read the phrases in groups and stick them under the correct celebration. I will ask them do you think these phrases are ( orders, suggestions, or requests). Now you will listen to Becky and Tom making suggestions, listen and write the missing words. check your answers in pairs. Take a look at these phrases what do they mean? /When do we use them. ( suggestion and I use them when I want to make a careful suggestion). I write on the board:(Don't you think it's a good idea to buy a car) ( Do negative form+ subject+ base form.........,to +infinitive) ( How does it sound if I take this job?) ( WH-question+ helping verb+subject+base form,.....=if clause. I will drill ( Don't you think it's a good idea to get a car)( raise and fall ). I will drill ( I think maybe we should go shopping). I will pause a little when I'm saying the word maybe).
