Procedure (33-44 minutes)
I will ask something about the previous lesson to remind them. Where were they going? What things did they pack? What things did they forget to pack? Where are Mr and Mrs Thompson now; are they on holiday?
In this stage, I'll give students a handout for a discovery activity. They will do some activities for meaning, form and pronounciation of the target language. I'll show the phonetics for "d" sound in regular ending words. They will listen a recording about the pronunciation. (Ex1) Students should repeat after I said first words then whole sentences.
In this stage, students will practice what they learned about the past tense. I'll give students a handout, they will fill the gap. Students will work in pairs to complete and check their answers with another pair.
In this stage, students first will try to elicit "pack" by looking a picture of pack on the board. Then they will write their 5 things to pack into their suitcase. Students should do this individually and not show each other. Then Group A should ask "Did you pack _____?" Group B. When they finished, Group B ask Group A same question.
In this stage, students should make questions with the verbs in the box Ex3. I'll give them a handout about these verbs. They will check the questions with their pairs and ask these questions each other and answer. Then I'll ask some students to report on their pair to the whole group.
In this stage, students will talk about their last holiday by using the target language. They will work with their pairs and then I'll ask some students to her/his pair's holiday.
