Procedure (21-29 minutes)
warmer: I will stick the pictures of the public speakers on the walls and each one of them will take a name and try to stick under the correct picture. Then I will ask them what do these people have in common? elicit the answers. Lead-in: ss will watch a video for Barack Obama giving a speech, then in pairs, they will have to choose the topic of the speech from three different cards in front of them.
I will two picture ( one for slum and the other for sins) I will ask them what can they see. elicit the answers from them.
ss will be given eight quotations, they will have to read and match. ( how many quotations, and Are you going to listen?). Then they will listen to the track so that they can check their answers. After that, they will listen again so that they can underline the stressed word. Write on the board quote number 2 and ask them where are the stressed words in this sentence.
ss will take a look at number three. I will do drilling focusing on the stressed words and the intonation.
I will give each group folded quotations each one will take one and sit in two groups. I will write two questions on the board ( Is it interesting?, How do you feel about it? ) Each one will open his quotation and discuss it with his group.
