Procedure (45-59 minutes)
Pre-teach the first conversation in a) by introducing myself. Say Hello/Hi I'm ...and ask ss What's your name?
Focus on the four pictures. Then say ss to listen to and read the 4 conversations and match each one to a picture.
Focus on the first sentence I'm Tom. Explain contractions.
Go through the rules with the class. Model and drill the example sentences and the pronounciation of the contractions. Focus on the exercises for 1A and 1B.
1 Vocabulary Write the three questions in Vocabulary a) on the board. Elicit/teach the answers. Go to Vocabulary Bank - Countries and nationalities. Pair work. Listening. Quiz. 2 Listening and Speaking
Speaking - 5B Pair work. Focus on the pictures and the example exchanges. Model and drill the pronounciation. Speaking 7A - Ss write the names of four countries and add one or two piece of information for each one. 7B Pair work
Focus on the cartoon and ask students who are they? Focus on the six different ways of saying goodbye. Provide ss with listening.
