Transportation
Beginner level

Description

In this lesson, students learn about different types of transportation through guided discovery based on the Melody Picture Dictionary. The lesson starts with a discussion about different places on the earth with a map. This is followed by a Q&A about the transportation method that can be used to travel to different places on the map in order to activate prior knowledge. Next, there are some activities to learn the target vocabulary. Finally, summing up the lessons learned previously, groups of students design and draw a map of the city they live in to draw their family members traveling around the city. This provides students with a chance to practice family vocabulary, clothes, shapes, and transportation.
