Brainstorming activities. t asks Ss the following questions: - What did you do last weekend? - What is your favorite weekend / free time activity? - Who do you like doing these activities with?
Ss do a vocab classifying exercise. Ss classify vocabulary items into 3 categories: Words they know, words they don't know and words that they are not sure about Ss listen to a listening tape about two people talking about what movies they want to watch.
Ss play an online matching game to learn the meaning of the TL. Ss should match the pictures with their corresponding words. T splits the Ss into 4 groups (teams) with 1 team leader for each group. (The team leaders are in charge of using the computer's mouse and the other team members are supposed to discuss and help with finding the correct answers) T projects the online matching game. T sets the timer. The winner is the one that finishes first.
Ss play a second online game to allow their brains to store the new vocabulary items. Using the same groups and different team leaders, Ss play a crossword game where they have to read clues and definitions of the vocab words they've been previously exposed to and complete the cross puzzles with the correct vocab items.
Ss will play a final online game.
Ss play a role play game. In pairs, one student picks a card with a movie genre and tries to convince his/her seat partner to go watch a movie of that type together. On the other hand, the second student should refuse the offer and try to convince the first student to go watch a different movie type of their choice. T monitors and makes sure the Ss are using the TL.
