Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Start the lesson with giving an example of your childhood experience: ''When I was a chıld, I strugglednwith other children'' Mime ''struggle with'' if Ss do not understand Ask Ss about their childhood memories: ''What did you do as a child? Do you still do it now?'' Make SS dıscuss it in pairs. Move around to monıtor. At the end of discussion, announce that we are going to talk about past experience.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Demonstrate a short video of a travel blogger. Before watching, ask Ss to think who is she, what does she do, what's her profession. Let Ss peercheck. Ask Ss whether they have the same answers or not.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Distribute the handouts with folded heading. Ask Ss to read the text and find out the most suitable heading. All the variants are displayed on the board. Ss compare their answers to the group members. Ask ICQs: ''Can you unfold the paper right now?'' No ''Will you compare answers in pairs?'' No, in groups After the discussion, ask Ss to unfold the heading

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Display the slide on the board: on its left part there is a girl ın the office, on its right part there is a girl in a trip. Ask Ss which one refers to the past. Write down ''past'' and ''now'' on the left and the right part respectively. Distribute cutouts with the past and present activities (''used to work in a big company'', ''travel the world'', ''work ın a summer camp'', '' used to create PowerPoint presentations'' etc.). Ask Ss to read the text again and divide the cutouts into ''Past'' and ''Present''. Make Ss work in groups. Display the answers on the board. Ask CCQs: Do we use ''used to'' when we talk about present? No Did Greta work in the office? Yes Does she work in the office now? No Drill one example from the cutouts, write the transcription /ˈjuːsttəː/. Introduce ''would''. Show the slide where ''used to'' is replaced by ''woud' wıth the same meaning

Post-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Show the slide with the picture of a reporter and a traveller. Explain that now Ss will work in pairs: one of them will be a reporter, the other one-a traveller, who has just returned from a world tour. Then they wıll change roles In turns Ss ask each other questions. ''The traveller'' should answer with ''used to'' or ''would''. The example is displayed on the board: -Did you travel by plane? -I used to travel by plane and by car. -What did you eat? -I used to try local cuisine. Ask Ss to stand up and make a pair with a new partner. Remind them to change roles.
