Procedure (24 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Tecaher: -Imitate a phone call to agree upon a business dinner tomorrow in a resturant. -Ask students what they have understood from the call. -Discuss
Pre-Listening (5 minutes) • To provide students with useful terms and expressions they ought to use in the free practice
Teacher: Goes through the expressions in the book. Gives a small brief on telephone etiquette.
While Listening #2 (6 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks
Teacher: - Play the tack twice - Ask students what they have understood - Pause when needed to clarify or explain meanings Students: - Fill in the gaps in a more detailed conversation
Post-Listening (10 minutes) • Practice: Role Play
Teacher: - Pair Ss, Ask them to come up with a scenario like the one they've listened to, Takes notes, Delivers them to Ss
