Description

In this lesson,teacher is having a more individual lesson program: setting up the chapters by their own.The main aim is Speaking and the subsidiary aim is Vocabulary.Thus,this lesson will be very useful for students in order to make speaking practise,improve their source of vocabulary and pronunciation.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will start telling about a SHORT STORY about myself ''I had been to İzmir in 2015.I was to return to İstanbul 3 days later by plane however due to some health problems,I had to change the date and I made it to the same day I arrived.I gave a call to Pegasus Airlines to change the date of my ticket but they told me I'd have to pay a lot of fine for that.So I decided to return by bus.It was so uncomfortable there because the seats were too close to each other and I couldn't even sleep well.When I was home,I felt a terrible stomachache and went to see a doctor.He told me that I had been experiencing a stomach spasm'' Then I'll ASK SS IF THEY'VE TRAVELLED A CITY OR COUNTRY AND EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS

Exposure (10-12 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T is to TEACH SOME VOCABULARY before the reading task.DRILL the words and pronunciate to make ss keep them in mind Then t is to GIVE COPIES OF STORY AND tell ss to READ FOR 2 mins and then let them DISCUSS about the story IN PAIRS; 1-What exactly happened in this story? 2-What would you do if such thing happened to them?

Useful Language (10-13 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

GIVE to ss the BOOK HANDOUTS. /// CHANGE PARTNERS this time and let them DISCUSS WHAT THEY SEE ON THE FIRST PHOTO (2 mins) /// Then TELL SS TO REMAIN THEIR CURRENT PLACES AND CHECK THE EXERCISE 2A.After they do it for 3 minutes,THEY WILL COMPARE THEIR ANSWERS for 2 mins. /// Then SS to do the 3RD EXERCISE AND 1 PAIR TO CHECK 1ST OTHER PAIR TO CHECK 2ND QUESTION THERE. (3 mins) /// Tell ss to check EXERCISE 4 and give them 5 MINS to change the sentences and compare their answers IN PAIRS

Productive Task(s) (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Tell SS to write A SHORT STORY about ''GOOD OR BAD TRAVEL EXPERIENCE'' by using the VOCABULARY they learnt today // T to monitor the SS meanwhile and help them if they need // Then SS to discuss their stories IN PAIRS

Feedback and Error Correction (5-7 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Ask SS which travel experıence they found the best amongst all. ANSWER one by one if they have QUESTIONS
