Procedure (49-65 minutes)
T asks sts about two favourite products in North Cyprus. Do they use them? Why do they think they are useful or not useful? etc.
Sts first read the first paragraph only to answer the questions about the TV programme. Sts compare answers with a partner and T elicits answers. Sts look at the photos, read about three products that were presented on the show and answer the six questions. Sts compare answers with a partner and T elicits answers. In pairs, sts tell each other which product they would or wouldn't be interested in buying and why.T gets feedback. With a show of hands, they could find out if one product is more popular than another. Sts focus on two more products from the Dragons' Den and T elicits why they think each product is special and T plays the audio once for sts to listen and find out the answer. Sts listen again and answer the questions. T elicits answers.
Sts in small groups of three or four have to imagine they are about to appear in front of the Dragons in the Den. They should look at the questions and think of their answers for their chosen products. Sts will have 3 minutes to present their product.
Sts prepare to present their presentations. T monitors and helps with any vocabulary.
Sts present their product to the class. Sts have money to invest in one of the products your classmates present so listen to their presentations and decide which one to vote for. (with a show of hands)
