Description

In this lesson students will improve their reading and listening skills and also develop their speaking and vocabulary.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about Bedrooms in the context of 6 Things You Didnt Know About Beds and Bedrooms

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in the context of Vocabulary and Exercises

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Write the words to the whiteboard on the following

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Show the bed photos to students and ask them a question: ``Which bed is your favourite amongst them?`` Then tell ss to discuss in pairs.Tell students to look at the photos on page 31.Ask them what they know about the people they see there.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Students will read the article and do the exercises on the paper

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ask students` thoughts about each part of the article and tell them to discuss in pairs

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Tell them to write a short paragraph about their favourite bed and then Ask students if they have any questions
