Procedure (36-45 minutes)
I will start the lesson by asking students if they miss their childhood, love to recall their memories of childhood with friends, was their childhood influenced by any member of their their family.
I will chest hold the sheet of exercise and ask them do you see this Q/ what kind of Q is this? I will elicit from them that it is a matching Q. I will ask them to underline the verbs and match them to the name of the tense, and not to turn the page, I will give them 2 mins. when they are done, I will ask them to check in pairs, then turn the page to check their answers.
Divide the board into two sides to review the tenses. A side for present simple and the other for present continuous. I will write a sentence and elicit the name of tense, ask CCQs to elicit the usage and meaning, provide them with timelines, elicit the form of both tenses. I will do the previous points also in comparing: past simple/ past continuous, present perfect/ past simple, present perfect/ past perfect. I will elicit and ask CCQs about the usage of used to and the difference between using it and using past simple. I will elicit the purpose of using the past form to express imaginary meaning.
I will chest the paper and ask them "what do you see in this picture"that this passage is about Keema grew up as an Indian British and they are going to choose the best verb form to know her story and ask them not to turn the page. I will give them 3 minutes and when they are done, I will ask them to check in pairs and then turn the page to check their answers. ICQ: Are you going to choose between verbs or nouns?
I will ask students to talk about their childhood and family background like first school, holidays, different homes and how long you stayed there, and who influenced them. I will ask them to form a circle and talk. I will listen and take notes about their performance and take notes, if they have mistakes, I will deal with them on the board later and ask SS to correct them.
