Procedure (39-46 minutes)
Name Pantomime: In a circle each person chooses an action-word to go with his/her name (e.g., "Swimming Angeliki"), then show the action to the group which repeats it.
T writes the word festival in a circle in the centre of the w/b. Ss call out words associated with the word. Form of spidergram
Stick on the w/b pictures with the new vocabulary of the text. Elicit. In 2 groups (1 for meaning and 1 for pronunciation) Ss have to match pictures with lexis and pronunciation. Drilling
Ss watch the picture of Las Fallas. Question: Do you think this festival is exciting? Ss think of a festival and talk in pairs. Questions a-f help Ss.
Ss read the article and find answers to the questions a-f. First check answers in pairs. Afterwards, T sticks answers on the wall. Self check.
Ss in pairs work on the Vocabulary Ex. 1, pag. 33. Feedback on the board
Projection of a short video about the festival. Audiovisual method to provide information with the use of the new vocabulary. Ss relax and enjoy the video. Homework: write a small paragraph about a festival (if time remains Ss start writing in the class)
