To provide gist and specific information listening practice about the colors of scottish tartans and clans

To provide and learn the necessary vocabulary for colors and to offer a speaking exercise
Procedure (36-61 minutes)
I will show some flags and ask the students about the colors and nations.The last flag will be Scotland.
I will wright the vowels on the board and divide the class in groups to do the exercise.First group who finishes will raise hands and one of group will wright the colors with the missing vowels on th board.
I will show Students a picture of a Scottish parade.I will ask the students where these people are from and why do they carry and wear different clothes and flags.I will explain what a clan is by comparing it with historical family groups and that every family wears different colors(tartans).
I will show students a picture of the four tartans and play the listening.They should compare the results with their partners.
I will play the listening more than once, if I sense any difficulties in understanding.I will let them compare the results with a partner.
I will wright some questions on the board:What are they talking about? How many people are speaking? Is this an interview or conversation? I will play it once and then instruct them to check their answers in pairs.After that I will check WC.
I play the tracks more than once if necessary.Students should compare the answers in pairs.
I will ask Ss some questions in order to check how they got their answers: Is she\he from Dundee? Where does she\he live now? Are they both in a clan? Both think clans are not important, true or false?
I will introduce the topic by comparing Scottish with Turkish dresses. I will tell them to talk in pairs about their traditional dresses and their colors and other traditions from their hometown.
