Procedure (37-49 minutes)
The pictures of cities are shown on the projector to the students. They try to guess which cities are they.
Combine the pictures with the adjectives. The adjectives are written on the board. cold-expensive-small-big-old-new. Make the meaning clear. Using the projector, Ss match adjectives with the pictures on the board.
New adjectives are introduced to Ss.(Using the projector) good-hot-big-new-expensive-beautiful-friendly-nice bad-cold-small-old-cheap-ugly-unfriendly 1)HAndout is given ,MAtching the adjectives with the pictures Individual work,Peer check.(They are going to write change their handouts with peers and check) 2)Listening Part:Pronunciation focusing 3)Question is asked: Do you see any relationship between these adjectives? Making explicit learning, trying to get the answer of opposites.
On the board, using the projector, get the Ss reorder the sentences. Talk about the rules.Write on the board.Explain the form. Adjectives go after 'be' :Your watch is nice. -It's a new watch. Adjectives go before nouns: It's a new car. -It's a new car. Plural:They're good friends. Very Draw 2 suns on the board, and show 'very' in the meaning. It's hot. It's very hot. Showing more examples about 'very' like, expensive bag, (2$-20$) Individually ask the students to make up a sentence using 'very' and using the adjectives.
Get the students in the groups of 4. Tell them that a reordering race will be made. The fastest group will win. Give the handouts closed. With the projector, whole class feedback.
Follow-up Speaking Activity Together, whole class discussion On the board Bankok's Picture comes Talk about Thailand, Bangkok the capital city. There is a very big animal there. What do you think it is? Would you want to ride on an elephant? Why/Why not? HAndouts are given.Fill in the blanks are made together with the whole class. Afterwards I want them to tell me the adjectives it the text. Rest will be the homework.
